How Our Network Works for Homeowners
Who You Talk To
You talk to an independent local provider, not to Meterselected Mold Help staff doing the work. Each provider in our network runs their own business. They set their own schedules, methods and prices.
That is why details such as arrival windows and pricing come from the provider, not from us.
What Happens on the First Conversation
Expect a few simple questions. The provider may ask:
- Where you see or smell the problem
- Whether there has been a leak, flood or roof damage
- How long it has been going on
- What type of home you have
Have photos ready if you can. Do not disturb the area before the visit.
What to Ask a Provider
A first-timer does not need to know the jargon. Just ask clear questions:
- Are you licensed where required, and insured?
- Do you offer certified mold testing, and who analyzes the samples?
- Will you find the moisture source, or only clean the surface?
- What is in the written quote, and what could change it?
- How will you contain the area during work?
- Is there a re-check after cleanup?
If an answer is vague, ask again. A good provider is happy to explain.
Do and Do Not
- Do limit the moisture, if you can do so safely
- Do keep children, pets and anyone with breathing problems away from the area
- Do not bleach or sand large patches
- Do not agree to work without a written quote
You Are in Control
A referral does not lock you in. You can compare estimates, ask for a second opinion or pause to think. Nobody should pressure you with scare tactics. Serious mold deserves a careful plan, not a rushed signature.
